A recent vote has paved the way to restrict the use of neonicotinoid pesticides across the entire European Union. Although a total ban was only supported by fifteen countries (not enough to form a majority), the Commission has imposed a two-year ban prohibiting its use.
Some of the remaining countries against the prohibition still believe that there is not enough scientific evidence to suggest a clear link between the pesticide and the decline of bees
